Print House, Almaty
9 floors, 14 departments, 63 devices
- The task
- Restricted documents were printed to shared trays in the corridors. Anyone could pick up someone else's printout, and there was no way to tell who printed what — which became a problem during audits.
- What we did
- We rolled out card-based printing: the job goes into a shared queue and is released only when the employee taps their pass on the device. We used the same cards as for building access — no new credentials were issued. We set up an operations log and per-department reports.
- The result
- Documents no longer sit unattended. Every printout is traceable to an employee, a device and a time. Unclaimed jobs expire after 24 hours and are never printed.
